Josef Sudek: Saint Vitus's Cathedral

The sixth volume in Josef Sudek's series of photographic cycles brings, for the first time ever, Sudek's unique and largely unpublished photographs from the reconstruction of Prague Cathedral in the 1920s, together with his now classic images of St Vitus from the later years of artist's life. Sudek's work with light, waiting for the right moment to capture the unique scenery in the interiors of the cathedral, reached its peak here. The book is accompanied by an introduction by Josef Moucha, an essay by Jaroslav Durych from Sudek's 1928 portfolio and a detailed art historical commentary by Klára Benešovská and Jan Chlíbec.
